FAQ

  • What is Botox and how does it work?

Botox, short for botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes muscles, reducing wrinkles and fine lines. It works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, preventing them from contracting and causing wrinkles.

  • How long does it take for Botox to start showing results?

Results from Botox injections typically begin to show within 3 to 7 days, with full effects becoming noticeable after about two weeks.

  • How long do the effects of Botox last versus Daxxify?

The effects of Botox typically last three months. Daxxify is estimated to last an additional 30 days. However, individual results may vary, and the longevity of results can be influenced by factors such as metabolism and the specific treatment area.

  • What are dermal fillers, and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances, often containing hyaluronic acid or other biocompatible materials, used to add volume to specific areas of the face. They work by plumping up the skin, reducing wrinkles, and restoring lost volume.

  • What areas of the face can be treated with dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers can be used to treat various areas, including the lips, cheeks, under-eye hollows, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, temporal area, fine lines, and jawline. They are versatile and can address different aspects of facial aging.

  • Are there any potential side effects or risks associated with dermal filler injections?

Dermal fillers are generally safe, but there are potential side effects and risks to be aware of. Common side effects are usually mild and include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. However, there are more rare and serious risks, such as infection, allergic reactions, vascular occlusions, migration or the formation of nodules. Monitoring and following post-procedure care instructions can also contribute to a smoother recovery process and reduce the likelihood of complications. Overall, while serious complications are infrequent, it is essential for individuals considering dermal fillers to be well-informed and choose a reputable practitioner for the procedure.
